Not Enough Bookshelves: Cover Wars – Wake

Cover Wars – Wake

Gone, the final book in Lisa McMann’s Dream catchers series, came out last week. So I thought we’d have the first book of the trilogy for cover wars.

The Book: Wake by Lisa McMann

USA

I love this cover. I love it’s stark simplicity. It gives me chills just looking at it and it fits so perfectly with the book.

UK

I like this cover. It is cute and quirky but it kind of reminds me of the UK Sarah Dessen covers. Which would totally lull the reader into a false sense of security. Wake is nothing like a Sarah Dessen novel!

So what do you think UK or USA? If you’d read the books which do you think is a better match? If you haven’t which would would make you pick the book up?

I haven't read the books, but I like the USA cover the best. Simplicity sells. : )

Totally the US. I have read it and think it is a fabulous read, I really enjoyed it. If I saw the UK cover I wouldn't have looked twice actually.

They both kind of match I guess, the UK looks more youngish to me.

The US cover would definately recieve a second look. I rather doubt the UK cover would.

These look like covers for two completely different books. The U.S. one being a scary story, and the U.K. one being a…I don't know. Trippy? Weird? I agree that the U.K. one looks youngish. I think I'd reach for the U.S. one first!

By the way, I started and finished Saving Francesca in two nights! What a great book. Thanks for the recommendation!

The US cover definitely suits the story better – but I absolutely hated this book!
